Of course, baccarat has evolved and changed since the time it was first played in Italy way back in the middle ages. Baccarat has developed its own variants as it traveled from one coast to another. Baccarat made itself grow to include not only the rich and famous but also the regular Joe and Jane that just wants to have a good time. Despite of this baccarat never lost its natural flair for the elegant. Baccarat can still make its players feel extra special.
Baccarat is an Italian word that means zero or zero points. It is pronounced as bah-ca-rah, without the t. In one of the variants of baccarat, called punto banco baccarat, the croupier or dealer says baccarat if the total point value of two cards result in a sum of ten, which has zero value in baccarat.
Baccarat has gained such a following that a famous musician by the name of Niccolo Paganini started his own gambling house. Unfortunately for him the government shut his casino down only a month after its opening night. The famous musician had to play for years just so he could pay all the debt he owed.
Others try to decipher a system in playing baccarat. They note down the winnings of the player's hand and the banker's hand. They bet for the player's hand then the player's hand again then the banker's hand and the banker's hand again. If after a while the tie, which pays out 8 to 1, hasn't come out then the players bet on it. Of course it has been said that the tie only comes out only once in twelve rounds.
In reality, there is no sure formula to win baccarat. It is after all a game of chance. One has nothing left to do but have a good money management plan, self-control and a drive to enjoy, win or lose.
