How To Play Baccarat

In almost every casino worldwide, there is a separate area specifically designated for a game of baccarat. The size of a regular baccarat or full baccarat table is similar to a table used in the game of craps, and can accommodate up to 14 players. Seven players are seated on each end of the table.

There are usually three casino personnel that facilitate a game of baccarat. Usually, there are two designated dealers and a "caller", also known as a "croupier". A dealer assists the seven players seated on one end of the table, while the other dealer does the same for the baccarat players at the other side of the baccarat table. The caller, on the other hand, conducts the flow of the game and announces the hands that are dealt.

Unlike in the game of blackjack, the value of the hand in baccarat will never be busted. If the cards exceed 9, the two digits will be added and the sum will be the value of the hand.

The game of baccarat starts with the betting. In a regular baccarat game the minimum betting amount is quite high than the other card games in the casinos. Thus, a baccarat player is usually known as a "high-roller".

There are three major betting areas in the game of baccarat. These are banker, the player and the stand-off. The banker and the player are the betting areas frequently used than the stand-off. This is due to the odds getting a similar hand for the banker and player is not very high.
